On 12th December 2013 Geelong City Council held a ceremony to raise the Aboriginal Flag on the City Hall, on a permanent basis.

The community attended a "Welcome to Country' and acknowledgement from the Mayor, before the flag was raised, and local Aboriginal young people danced.
