OUR 2019 EVENT WAS HELD ON SUNDAY 2nd JUNE, the 10th Reconciliation in the Park event in Geelong
In support of the 2019 National Reconciliation Week theme: 'Grounded in Truth - Walk Together with Courage', local Aboriginal community members provided song, dance, workshops, children's activities, Victorian Treaty discussions and indigenous plants knowledge and bush tucker BBQ.
This year, due to wet weather we moved inside at GPAC. Whilst it was different to being on Country, the activities were all provided and the event was a great success. Some photos are below.
Comments:
• That was a fantastic event, with lots of fun and interesting activities. I've learnt a lot
• We'll come again next time and we enjoyed how much interaction there is between people
• This is a really inclusive event
• Excellent, it would be good to find a way of having it in the park, but protected from the cold weather as it's during Reconciliation Week.
• The best thing ever
• Thank you to all the organising team
• We need more events like this one, set up by community for everyone
• We will always come to this unique event
